The curriculum in the Primary School is based on the National Curriculum of England and taught through the thematic International Primary Curriculum. The IPC reflects the needs of the international and multi-cultural student body and capitalises on the unique opportunities provided by being located in Indonesia. Resources and facilities are exceptional and help to provide a stimulating and exciting environment that encourages children to fully engage in their learning.
All classrooms are purpose built with Year One to Year Six units having shared open areas, art rooms and access to outdoor learning areas.
Following the extensive remodelling work carried out in Foundation Stage 1 and 2 last academic year, this July/August, the Year 2 classrooms and shared areas have received an extensive makeover. Children, and staff are delighted with the changes which help to create a learning environment fit for purpose.
Apart from the classrooms, children have access to a wide range of specialist facilities such as a purpose built two storey primary library, computer suites, music studios, extensive outdoor areas for PE and swimming, gyms, modern foreign language classrooms and of course the BIS World Theatre. |
